About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Main Contractor on a freelance basis, working on a high-profile healthcare project.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing electrical design solutions, ensuring compliance with technical standards, project specifications, and healthcare sector requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design development from concept through to detailed design.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design integrity.
- Produce detailed calculations using industry-standard software (Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and in-house tools).
- Ensure compliance with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) standards and all relevant regulations.
- Provide technical guidance, resolve design challenges, and manage design risks.
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Support project delivery with a focus on quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer within large-scale healthcare or similarly complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare design standards (including HTM / HBN).
- Previous experience working with or for a Main Contractor is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Contract Details:
- Freelance
- £400 per day.
- Up to 6 Months
