Full Job DescriptionJob Title: Production OperativeLocation: BasingstokeSalary: £27,000 + £2,040 Shift Allowance (£29,040 Total)Shift pattern: Week 1 Early – Mon – Thurs – 6 – 2 Fri – 6 – 1, week 2 Late – Mon – Thurs 1-9 Fri 12-7pmAre you safety-conscious, hands-on, and looking to build your career in a dynamic manufacturing environment?Our client, a respected chemical manufacturing company based in Basingstoke, is looking for a reliable and hardworking Production Operative to support their daily chemical production activities.This is a great opportunity to join a stable, well-established company offering full training, long-term career development, and a supportive team culture.Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely handle and process hazardous chemicals in line with strict safety protocols
  • Carry out chemical reactions and manufacturing tasks as instructed
  • Accurately measure and record raw material usage per production batch
  • Perform basic in-process quality checks and testing
  • Keep production areas and equipment clean and well-maintained
  • Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move materials and finished products
  • Package both powdered and liquid chemical products
  • Monitor and run chemical plant machinery
  • Conduct basic maintenance on production equipment
Collaboration & Teamwork:
  • Work closely with production, laboratory, engineering, and warehouse teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused working environment
Problem Solving & Complexity:
  • Apply basic chemical process knowledge and mathematical skills
  • Use initiative to support process improvements and solve day-to-day issues
  • Interpret testing results and take appropriate actions where needed
What We’re Looking For:
  • A valid Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
  • Good numeracy and basic maths skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
  • Willingness to wear PPE including gloves, goggles, and masks
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production is preferred
