HR Generalist - 6-Month Contract

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a proactive and experienced HR Generalist to join a well-established organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a varied and hands-on role, offering exposure across all core HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Selection

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including applications, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Liaise with external recruitment partners when required.
  • Issue offer letters, conduct reference checks, and manage leaver documentation.

Employee Benefits

  • Administer employee benefits and support staff with queries and claims.
  • Manage absence records including sickness and other types of leave.

Employee Relations

  • Advise managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Support investigations and disciplinary/grievance processes.
  • Attend hearings and provide documentation and note-taking support.

HR Administration & Systems

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Assist with salary reviews, bonus schemes, and reporting.
  • Respond to employee queries and support the HR Manager with daily operations.

General HR Support

  • Manage internal HR platforms and communications.
  • Support internal engagement initiatives including newsletters, surveys, and recognition programs.
  • Participate in HR projects and meetings.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and health & safety across the organisation.
Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with HR systems and reporting tools is desirable.
