Shifts: Earlies (6am-2pm) / Lates (2pm-10pm), rotating
Overview:
This is a multi-skilled maintenance role based at a full-scale manufacturing site in Basildon. The facility includes on-site laboratory testing and production lines manufacturing over 30 products, with key customers across the UK, Europe, and Asia.
Role Summary for the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:
The position involves a balance of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance. You'll also support specialist contractors carrying out both routine and emergency tasks.
- PPM Work: 65%
- Reactive Maintenance: 35%
- Frequent Issues: Sensor-related faults
- Support: Liaising with contractors on site when needed
Machinery the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be working on:
Spray dryers, evaporators, welding bays, labelling machines, silos, refrigerators, mills, and blenders.
Key Skills & Experience for the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Mechanical:
- Hydraulics & pneumatics
- Pumps, belts
- General fabrication and welding (bonus)
Electrical:
- 3-phase and single-phase systems
- Motors: wiring, testing, star-delta configuration, direction change
- Gearboxes, sensors, relays, inverters
- PLC knowledge
