Production Engineer 

Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Bonus

The Opportunity

We’re working with a leading electronics manufacturer to recruit a Production Engineer. This is a pivotal role where you’ll support both new product introductions (NPI) and ongoing production, ensuring robust processes and smooth delivery in a modern PCB manufacturing environment.

If you want to play a key role in shaping production excellence while working across exciting, technology-led projects, this role offers just that.

The Role
  • Take ownership of production engineering processes, with a strong focus on NPI activity.

  • Develop and implement robust DFM/DFX processes to ensure smooth new product launches.

  • Review technical requirements during bid/quote phases.

  • Define, document, and verify detailed process flows for both NPI and production.

  • Produce technical instructions and develop tooling to support the production process.

  • Collaborate with production, planning, and quality teams to deliver orders successfully.

  • Support the introduction of new manufacturing techniques, capital equipment, and test processes.

  • Liaise directly with customers on production and test requirements, including ICT.

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in production engineering and process control within electronics manufacturing.

  • Understanding of PCBA production – desirable.

  • Familiarity with ICT and functional test.

  • Solid knowledge of IPC standards is desirable

  • Experience creating process flows, work instructions, and technical documentation.

  • Excellent organisation, communication, and attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification

  • Familiarity with TQM/continuous improvement

  • Experience with AS9100 standards
