We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector for a Company who specialise in the design and subcontract manufacturing of high precision components for the automotive and aerospace markets.
Education Requirements & Experience:
. Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher Education Qualification in Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
. Experience as a Mechanical Inspector/Quality Inspector in CNC machining and precision manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
. Can use Hand Held measuring tools, Linear Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Surface Finish Testers etc.
. Excellent numeracy skills.
. Ability to read engineering drawings and have knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel).
. Quality control preferably AS9100.
. Some experience operating a CMM, preferably Mitutoyo.
. Meticulous attention to detail.
. Excellent communication & time management skills.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
. Goods Inwards, In Process and 100% Final Inspection of Parts utilising various inspection tools/methods.
. Perform routine visual and dimensional inspection and check for surface defects, cleaning, chipping, etc.
. Produce inspection reports, compile and complete CofC's/ FAIRS and Customer quality assurance documentation.
. Complete NCR's when necessary and support 8D process.
. Ensure all processing has been carried out in accordance with route cards.
. Assist with maintaining the calibration system ensuring it's accurate & up to date at all times.
. Work with the section leaders and production teams to ensure all documentation is completed correct and accurately.
