Mechanical Inspector – Precision Engineering

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent

Operating from a state-of-the-art facility, the company continues to invest heavily in its people, processes, and technology to remain at the forefront of high-precision manufacturing.

The Role
As a Mechanical Inspector, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that all components meet stringent quality and dimensional standards. You’ll inspect parts throughout the production cycle—from goods-in to final inspection—and contribute to quality assurance documentation and non-conformance resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Perform Goods Inwards, In-Process, and Final Inspections using manual and semi-automated measurement tools.
•    Accurately interpret engineering drawings with a sound understanding of GD&T.
•    Produce inspection reports and complete quality documentation including CofCs and FAIRS.
•    Support the NCR and 8D process when required.
•    Ensure all quality processes align with internal documentation and route cards.
•    Assist in maintaining calibration systems.
•    Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:
•    Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (preferred).
•    Previous experience in a CNC machining / precision engineering inspection role is essential.
•    Proficiency with tools such as height gauges, bore gauges, surface testers, and CMMs (ideally Mitutoyo).
•    Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems.
•    Confident using MS Office (Excel, Word).
•    Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
