A leading global information and communication technology (ICT) company are seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Director to lead and manage change programmes and projects. The Programme Director will have ultimate accountability for the successful delivery of these initiatives, ensuring they meet the strategic goals of both the customer and the organization.

This is a contract role (Inside IR35) initially for up to 6 months and the successful candidate will require at least SC Clearance or DV Clearance.

We are able to offer a day rate of up to £750 per day and hybrid working at either the Basingstoke or Bracknell office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Own the overall leadership and vision for portfolio delivery in conjunction with the Delivery Executive and the MOD customer.
  • Team Management: Lead a team of Program and Project Managers, leveraging the Programme Management Office (PMO) to achieve business benefits.
  • Accountability: Manage programmes and projects effectively, addressing risks, issues, conflicts, priorities, resources, and communications.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the main driving force throughout the delivery of change programmes, ensuring mutual benefit by meeting programme goals.
  • Decision-Making: Provide decision-making capacity that cannot be achieved at programme or project level.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and guidance to programme and project teams, setting strategic direction and vision.
  • Development: Support personal and professional development within programme teams and the wider community.
  • Risk Management: Direct the management of business and overall portfolio risk, ensuring effective mitigation plans and risk assessments.
  • Financial Management: Effective P&L management across the portfolio of programmes/projects, with contingency usage signed off by the appropriate governance authority.
  • Experience: Experienced Programme Manager with large complex programs, ideally at portfolio level.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong senior customer/stakeholder management (internal/external).
  • Governance: Strong governance and control in financial, risk, issues, and dependency management.
  • Problem-Solving: Finds solutions and thinks out of the box.
  • Communication: Strong communicator with experience working under pressure.
