Quantum Scholars are currently working with a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school based in Basingstoke who are seeking a passionate English Teacher. This will be a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025. This position offers an opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative teaching team dedicated to fostering a love for English and helping students achieve their full potential.
The school hiring are based in Basingstoke. They are rated as a "Good" performing school overall with "Outstanding" in three of the four Ofsted categories. They are a school with students aged 11-16 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to a range of learning abilities and styles.
- Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum and school standards.
- Develop engaging lesson materials and activities that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
- Monitor and assess student progress through regular marking, reporting, and feedback.
- Support students in their personal and academic growth by creating an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in meetings, parent evenings, and extracurricular activities where required.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary school level.
- A strong understanding of the national curriculum and exam board requirements.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.
- A genuine passion for English literature and language, and a commitment to making a positive impact on students' education.
- Must be available for September 2025!
