Quality Engineer

£40-43k

If you are an experienced quality engineer with a strong background in working in a regulated manufacturing environment, then this could be the ideal new role for you!

This will be an interesting and varied role where you will have the opportunity to work on both internal and product quality along with quality performance of suppliers.

The quality engineer will take the lead on APQP activities, problem resolution and continuous improvement activities.

This would suit someone with experience of AS9100 who has worked in a high reliability manufcaturing sector such as aerospace, defence, rail etc

Responsibilities

Devise and manage specific elements of the quality improvement roadmap, ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality system and project-specific quality requirements.

Lead Quality Improvement Programmes' to deliver year-on-year improvements using KPI analysis, Pareto, FMEA, and other tools.

Record and generate supplier quality performance figures for Senior Management review.

Support the implementation and delivery of Advanced Production Quality Plans for New Product Introduction.

Review and map processes, support the introduction of robust processes using techniques such as PFMEA’s, and control the processes using Control Plans.

Prepare and submit Quality Approval documentation (FAI and/or PPAP) to customers.

Work closely with various teams on supplier selection for new products and services and approve these in line with company procedures.

Lead activities for non-conforming product containment incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and problem resolution.

Participate in supplier visits and audits, and support off-site visits and manufacturing activities as necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

HNC/Degree in Engineering or Business-related discipline (or equivalent).

Experience in a manufacturing quality or supply chain quality environment, preferably in high volume manufacturing.

Experienced in PFMEA’s, Control Plans, FAI Reports, and statistical analysis.

Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
