We are seeking an experienced and proactive Interim Estates and Projects Manager to lead and manage estates and facilities operations at a healthcare site in the Bath area. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing construction projects, managing capital expenditure (CAPEX), and ensuring high standards of maintenance and compliance across the estate.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver construction and refurbishment projects on time and within budget.
Oversee CAPEX planning and execution, as well as Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
Manage a team of maintenance professionals and coordinate external contractors.
Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, escalating and resolving issues as needed.
Provide timely and accurate estates-related information to clinical and senior management teams.
Maintain the integrity and compliance of clinical spaces and support audits and inspections.
Drive performance, quality, and efficiency across estates and facilities functions.
Contribute to the leadership of Facilities Management, Housekeeping, Catering, and Hospitality functions as required.
Lead on Health & Safety matters, including chairing the H&S Committee.
Ensure all documentation, audits, and compliance records are maintained and accessible.
Person Specification
Essential:
Professional qualification in Construction, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with strong cross-disciplinary knowledge.
Significant experience in a senior estates/facilities management role.
Strong understanding of construction technology, building services, and compliance standards.
Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering complex projects.
Experience in health and safety, fire safety, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
Experience in healthcare estates and facilities management.
Postgraduate qualification in a related discipline.
PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD).
