About the Role

Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs?

We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to join one of our outstanding partner SEN schools in Bath. In this rewarding long-term role, you’ll plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs, helping each learner make meaningful progress - both academically and personally. 

You’ll work closely with pupils with a range of needs including SEMH, ASD, MLD, and PMLD, using a compassionate and flexible approach to ensure every child thrives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of SEN learners

  • Implement individual education and support plans in line with EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice

  • Manage behaviour positively and proactively, promoting emotional regulation and self-esteem

  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support

  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil can succeed

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs across a range of ages and abilities

  • Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – we can assist)

  • Resilience, empathy, teamwork, and a genuine passion for helping children with additional needs

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience in specific SEN areas such as ASD, SEMH, MLD, or PMLD

  • Knowledge of intervention strategies and additional support programmes

  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet varied learning, communication, sensory, and emotional needs
