JOB TITLE: Shuttering Carpenter

SALARY : £22.00 - £25.00
LOCATION: Taunton
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Measure, cut, and assemble formwork materials (timber, plywood, or metal).
- Install and secure formwork according to specifications.
- Pour, level, and finish concrete within the shuttering moulds.
- Strip formwork after the concrete has set and clean/prepare for reuse.
- Ensure formwork structures are strong, stable, and aligned properly.
- Work closely with other construction professionals, including steel fixers and concrete workers.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a shuttering carpenter or similar role in construction.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools related to carpentry.
- Good physical strength and stamina.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices on construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Carpentry or Construction (optional but advantageous).
- Previous work experience on large-scale construction projects.
