Elevation Recruitment Groups Skilled Shop Floor Team are proud to be working in partnership with a Fabrication business based in Batley.

We are currently seeking an experienced Welder/ Fabricator to join the team at this exciting time of expansion. PAY:

£16.50ph 

Working Hours:  

Monday to Friday (days only), early finish on Friday

Overtime available Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand job requirements.
  • Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on a variety of materials, such as stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment and tools safely and accurately.
  • Inspect and prepare materials by cutting, grinding, or cleaning surfaces before welding.
  • Check completed welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity using gauges, calipers, or visual inspection.
  • Adjust machine settings and welding parameters according to material type and thickness.
  • Maintain welding equipment, ensuring it is in safe and good working conditionFollow health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe working practices.
  • Work to tight deadlines, ensuring all welding work meets production and quality standards.

Skills & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent vocational qualification).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in TIG and MIG welding
  • Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and working to fine tolerances.
  • Skilled in material preparation, including cutting, deburring, folding, and forming stainless steel.
  • Hands-on experience in metal finishing techniques, such as grinding, polishing, and buffing welded joints.
  • Familiarity with using fabrication equipment, including press brakes, guillotines, and rollers.
  • Experience working from sheet metal to thick plate
  • Experience working within the balustrade, modular building, or similar manufacturing environments
