Material Buyer

The Role

As a Materials Buyer, you will play a key role in the smooth delivery of new housing developments. Working closely with the commercial, technical, and site teams, you will be responsible for the efficient procurement of materials, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Procuring materials in line with build programmes and specifications.

• Building strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating best value.

• Managing purchase orders, invoices, and stock levels.

• Monitoring material usage and minimising wastage.

• Supporting site teams to resolve supply chain issues promptly.

• Contributing to cost control and value engineering initiatives.

About You

• Previous experience as a Buyer in the housebuilding or construction sector.

• Strong negotiation and organisational skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Good knowledge of building materials and supply chains.

• IT literate, with experience using COINS or a similar system (desirable).

• A proactive team player with a positive attitude.
