The ideal candidate for this role would have experience working on civil engineering projects. Substation experience would be preferable but is not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold high standards of personal safety and environmental practices.
- Supervise assistant engineers effectively.
- Ensure drawings and specification documents provide sufficient and accurate information for construction.
- Deliver precise and clear setting out for works.
- Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure they fully understand the provided information.
- Arrange formal checks of setting out.
- Complete inspection and test plans diligently.
- Maintain an accurate daily site diary.
- Prepare 4-weekly programs.
- Provide precise measurements for required materials.
- Maintain material reconciliation figures for reporting purposes.
- Ensure material delivery tickets are forwarded for cost coding.
- Conduct testing and sampling of materials.
- Assist the measurement department as needed.
- Keep survey books up to date.
- Receive materials and perform necessary checks.
- Degree, HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent NVQ Level.
- Strong background of Civil Engineering and Substation.
- Successful experience at Assistant Engineer level.
- CSCS Level (Academically or Professionally Qualified Person).
- Working towards achieving ICE Technician or Incorporated (preferred) level or equivalent.
