Exciting opportunity for a Plant Machinist / Yard Mechanic   Our client is a well-established waste management provider based in Beccles who are looking for a Plant Machinist/Yard Mechanic to join their team. Our client handles a wide range of waste collection and processing needs with a strong commitment to sustainability, they offer comprehensive recycling and waste management services for both domestic and commercial clients.  Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy plant machinery such as shredders, compactors, conveyors, and loading equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Assist with the safe operation of machinery used in waste processing and recycling
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently to support daily yard operations
  • Manufacture components needed for repairs or upgrades to existing machinery
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring all machinery is operated and maintained in line with company and legal standards
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and report any hazards or incidents
  • Work closely with site managers, machine operators, and external contractors to coordinate repairs and upgrades
  • Provide technical support and training to other team members when needed
  Qualifications & Skills
  • Extensive experience with plant machinery, such as forklifts, shovels, telehandlers, 360 grabs, shredders
  • Health and safety compliance is a must, ideally IOSH qualified as minimum
  • Paper trail completion, organised seamless operations
  • Previous experience in a similar role within waste management, construction, or heavy industry
