Engage Education is supporting a Good-rated secondary school in Beckenham in recruiting a full-time Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). This is a fantastic opportunity for a safeguarding professional who is passionate about student welfare and making a real impact across a school community.
The successful candidate will take the lead on all safeguarding matters, ensuring best practices are upheld and that students are supported, protected, and safe at all times. Youll be the main point of contact for child protection issues, liaise with external agencies, and work closely with pastoral staff and SLT to uphold a strong safeguarding culture.
The ideal candidate will:
Have proven experience in a safeguarding role within a school or education setting
Hold a current DSL qualification (or be willing to undertake training)
Have excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, procedures, and KCSIE guidance
Demonstrate strong communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to lead on safeguarding cases and referrals
Be confident managing safeguarding systems and records in line with statutory requirements
