About The Role:

We are seeking a Lead Estimator to oversee and manage our estimating function, taking the lead on tenders and pricing across our full range of passive fire protection services. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in the industry who enjoys both strategic leadership and hands-on estimating work.

You will play a key role in driving the success of our bids, refining pricing strategies, and supporting business growth through accurate and competitive proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all estimating processes
  • Develop, monitor, and continuously improve pricing models
  • Manage the personal and technical development of the estimating team
  • Prioritise and meet deadlines for all tenders and quotations
  • Review pricing methodologies, schedules of rates, and proposal documentation
  • Generate detailed pricing sheets aligned with clients' work scopes
  • Manage the pricing and submission of public sector tenders
  • Work closely with technical and operations teams to align pricing with delivery requirements
  • Analyse historical data to enhance future estimating accuracy and competitiveness
  • Prepare professional proposals detailing scope of work and specifications
  • Collaborate with the technical team to review and refine preliminary doorset quotations
  • Support the sales team by advising clients on budgetary considerations and project objectives
  • Liaise with material suppliers to obtain accurate and competitive quotations

About You:

  • Previous experience in the passive fire protection industry is essential
  • Proven success in estimating and tendering for construction or fire protection projects
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing or mentoring a team
  • High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work scopes
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented
