My client is recruiting for a  brand-new skilled Service Engineer to join their expanding Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning, training, maintenance, and service activities. This position would suit an individual with excellent mechanical skills, who enjoys global travel and customer interaction and enjoys predominantly working independently when overseas.
Key Duties
- Carry out to an excellent standard all service installation, commissioning, maintenance, and training as required. Managing and controlling hours worked to ensure safe and efficient working.
- Carry out routine maintenance and unplanned service work as and when required including out of hour’s breakdowns.
- Liaison across departments to plan all service and customer training work efficiently and effectively.
- Attendance during customer pre-delivery factory acceptance tests.
- Being a professional, courteous and positive ambassador for the company when interacting with customers - proactively developing and maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all service work undertaken and ensure the timely submission of timesheets, expenses claims, invoices and service visit reports.
- Produce high quality and detailed service reports for the customer. Providing detailed feedback on field service problems and how they were overcome.
- Work with the Service Manager on pro-active initiatives to increase opportunities for planned and contract maintenance and spares sales.
- Actively promote the sale of spare parts and preventative maintenance contracts when at customer sites.
Skills/Experience
Essential
- Excellent Mechanical Engineering skills and experience
- Desire and ability to travel frequently, nationally and internationally with a bias towards global travel – expected travel approx. 60% of the time.
Desirable
- Electrical Engineering skills
- Experience in a similar industry, e.g., capital goods machinery, high speed machinery.
