Pay: £14.59 per hour, there is an overtime rate of £18.24 per hour (applicable after 48 hours)
Start time: 06:00 | Average shift length: 810 hours
5 to 6-day working week including weekends

Flexible People Ltd is currently recruiting experienced and newly qualified 7.5 Tonne (7.5T) Home Delivery Drivers on behalf of a highly regarded, multinational retail client based in Marsh Leys, Bedford.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct home deliveries of large household goods (e.g. white goods, flat-pack furniture, televisions, and gym equipment)

  • Work alongside a Drivers Mate to complete deliveries professionally and efficiently

  • Provide room of choice delivery service, ensuring a high standard of customer care

  • Ensure all deliveries are carried out in line with health and safety guidelines

Due to the physical nature of the role, a good level of fitness is essential.

Shift Details:
  • Shift start time: 06:00 AM

  • Average shift duration: 8 to 10 hours

  • Operation runs 7 days a week

  • 5 or 6-day rota, including weekends as required

  • Opportunity for a permanent contract after 13 weeks

Requirements:
  • Valid UK Driving Licence with 7.5T entitlement

  • Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

  • Maximum of 6 penalty points (No DD, DR or IN endorsements)

  • Steel toe cap boots and high visibility vest required

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Punctual, reliable, and professional in attitude

  • Ability to safely handle heavy items during deliveries

Recruitment Process:

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete:

  1. A driving assessment

  2. A multiple-choice test on the Highway Code and tachograph regulations

  3. A comprehensive induction upon successful completion of the above
