Associate Civil Engineer - Flood Risk & Infrastructure
I'm working with a well-respected consultancy seeking an Associate Civil Engineer with expertise in flood risk and infrastructure to join their growing Bedford office.

As an Associate Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and water environment projects. You will be responsible for technical leadership, project management, client liaison, and mentoring junior staff, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
路Leading the preparation of drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, and engineering reports for planning submissions.
路Overseeing and reviewing technical drawings, including S104, S278, and S38 layouts.
路Managing the design of highways, external works, ground modelling, and related infrastructure.
路Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
路Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering professional development within the team.
路Undertaking site visits to oversee works, resolve technical queries, and support project delivery.
路Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
路Contributing to business development through client relationship building and identifying new opportunities.
This role is predominantly office-based with occasional site visits, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders in engineering, planning, and design disciplines.
About You:
You will be a degree-qualified Civil Engineer with substantial experience in flood risk management, drainage design, and infrastructure projects. You will bring proven leadership skills, a strong technical track record, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards it) is desirable.
