Construction Project Manager

Construction Project Manager who has experience delivering complex projects within the UK based construction industry or developer setting, with experience coordinating projects with various stakeholders through the RIBA design stages, and heading cost management is required for a successful specialist development management company based in Bedfordshire.

SALARY: £55,000 - £60,000per annum Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid Working with your time split working from home and the office in Bedford, Bedfordshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week.Flexible Working Hours, with the core hours being 10am – 3pm

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity with the company’s ever-expanding multi-disciplinary in-house team for a Construction Project Managerwho has experience delivering complex projects within the UK based construction industry or developer setting, with experience coordinating projects with various stakeholders through the RIBA design stages, and heading cost management.

Working as a Construction Project Manager you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development of diverse schemes ranging from £250k to £25m.

As a Construction Project Manager you will manage schemes through all the RIBA Stages from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality. This will also involve heading Cost Management, so experience with cost plans and valuations would be extremely desirable.

This role is an opportunity to work closely with the in-house planning and design teams as well as experienced external consultancy partners.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Construction Project Manager will include:

• The completion of PM documentation (e.g., Programme of Works, Risk Register, Issues log, Lessons learned)

• Monitoring the design process to ensure completion on time and to the required standard

• Preparation of tender documentation and contractor selection process

• Negotiating the technical and commercial aspects of construction contracts, coordinating the preparation of the Employer’s Requirements

• Acting as day-to-day liaison with the main contractor and professional team, focusing on liaison with the EA and QS

• Assisting with regular site inspections to ensure works are progressing in accordance with the ER’s

• Attending regular progress meetings with the main contractor to review and check the progress of the works concerning timing, cost, and quality

• Aiding the preparation and administration of various legal contracts including building contracts and consultant appointments/warranties

• Progress reports and recommendations to investors and lenders, including reviewing and updating tracker documentation

• Preparing and maintaining action, progress, risk, and compliance trackers to ensure risks are managed, actions completed, and issues resolved

• Attending regular design team meetings to ensure design is developed to conform with the Employer’s Requirements

• Overseeing completion and handover of the project from construction site to completed building, including liaison with building occupiers and managing agents

• Concluding the final account and monitoring the property during the defect’s liability period

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• BSc/MSc in Project Management or a related field within construction is required

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within a UK based construction industry or developer setting

• In-depth knowledge of JCT contracts is essential

• Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects on time and within budget constraints

• Strong experience coordinating projects with various stakeholders through the RIBA design stages
