Risk Manager

I am partnered with an historic Insurance provider to identify a Risk Manager. This is a remote role, Reporting into the Chief Risk and Technology officer, the successful candidate will oversee the first line of defence in identifying, assessing, and managing risks across operational, financial, conduct, and insurance risk categories.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Partner with first-line business units to support effective risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring activities.

• Provide oversight and challenge on first-line risk management processes, controls, and decision-making across operational, financial, conduct, and insurance risk areas.

• Support the enhancement and execution of the company’s risk management framework, ensuring it is effectively applied in day-to-day operations.

• Lead risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs), develop risk assessments, and conduct risk appetite monitoring with first-line stakeholders.

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of risk and compliance reporting to senior management, Board committees, and regulatory bodies as required.

• Monitor adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies and managing potential breaches or concerns.

• Deliver training, guidance, and tools to first-line teams to build risk awareness and capability.

• Contribute to the development of the risk culture across the organisation.

• Conduct of control testing and assurance activities

• Support the Head of Compliance in ensuring regulatory and legislative obligations are conformed with and managing associated risk exposure
