We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Psychology and Criminology Graduate to join a fantastic team in Bedford, where you will be supporting children and young adults with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in the education and training sector. This role is ideal for a Psychology and Criminology graduate who is enthusiastic about applying their academic knowledge in a practical, impactful way. You'll play a key role in supporting students to develop positive coping strategies, improve their mental health, and build essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to children and young adults with SEMH needs.
- Implement tailored interventions to support emotional regulation and behaviour management.
- Work closely with educational staff and support teams to create a safe, nurturing environment.
- Use psychological and criminological insights to inform your approach to individual and group challenges.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, documenting key developments.
- Build trusting relationships with students to empower them to reach their full potential.
What We're Looking For:
- A Psychology and/or Criminology degree (or similar field).
- A passion for working with children and young adults, particularly those with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassion, resilience, and a positive approach to working with vulnerable individuals.
- Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to commute to Bedford
