Role OverviewThe Tupe Specialist will report directly to Programme Change Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for:Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end TUPE process for the transfer
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on transferring employees, including employment terms, liabilities and pension implications
  • Ensure full compliance with the TUPE regulations, employment law and internal policies
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and tailored support to managers, the executive team and other stakeholders
  • Develop and implement a detailed transfer plan, including risk assessment, stakeholder engagement and employee communications
  • Collaborate cross functionally with external partners including the transferring charity, trade unions, colleague representative groups and legal to ensure a coordinated and transparent process
  • Work with colleagues to manage communication strategies to ensure transparency and clarity for all affected parties.
  • Identify and resolve complex employment issues, working closely with legal and the wider HR team as needed
  • Monitor and report on progress, escalating risks and proposing mitigation plans where appropriate
  • Support the cultural and operational onboarding of new employees into MaPS, promoting cohesion within the existing team
  • This role may include substantial travel across the UK
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience. To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
  • Significant experience leading end-to-end TUPE transfers, ideally between charity and public sectors,including In-depth knowledge of UK employment law, with particular expertise in TUPE regulations and their application in the public sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing formal consultation processes and engaging effectively with tradeunions and employee representatives.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver to tight timelines
  • Skilled in developing and delivering clear, timely communication plans to support affected employeesthroughout the transition.
  • Experience designing and implementing change management strategies to support post-transferworkforce integration and cultural alignment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders, legal advisors and external partners.

Flexible WorkingAt MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered.
