Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a background in pumps or heavy mechanical equipment?

The Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on, mechanically minded individual to join a specialist team in Bedford. You’ll be working on the preparation, pressure testing, and assembly of complex pump components used in land drainage, flood defense and wastewater applications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Pressure testing of pump components to meet production requirements
Operating overhead cranes and forklifts (training provided if needed)
Reading engineering drawings and completing quality paperwork
Supporting pump assembly teams and assisting with sub-assembly and paint tasks
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with HSEW procedures

About you:

Several years' experience in mechanical fitting or assembly
Ideally from a pump manufacturing or heavy engineering background
Able to read and follow engineering drawings and checklists
Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-focused attitude
Comfortable working to deadlines and using your initiative

Package:

Salary: £35,000–£42,000 depending on experience
Hours: Mon–Thurs 08:15–16:45, Fri 08:15–13:45
