Attendance and Punctuality
- Support the House Office in monitoring student attendance and punctuality
- Maintain regular communication with the Attendance Officer regarding student attendance
- Liaise with the Attendance Officer regarding parental contact and undertake attendance duties in their absence
- Provide the Senior Tutor with regular attendance data for the House
- Inform the Senior Tutor, Attendance Officer, and Safeguarding Team of students causing attendance concern
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of attendance letters and ensure copies are filed appropriately
- Identify and report patterns of absence or lateness to the Senior Tutor
- Monitor lateness and coordinate lunchtime detentions in collaboration with the Senior Tutor
- Support students and parents to improve attendance through Student Support Plans
- Ensure Fire Registers are available and delivered during fire drills
Administrative and Clerical Support
- Provide general clerical support including filing, word processing, record keeping, and managing telephone messages
- Create, manage, and maintain confidential student records
- Issue letters to parents on behalf of the Senior Tutor to support behaviour and dress standards
- Produce achievement certificates and related documentation
- Monitor supplies and place orders for equipment as required
- Support fundraising activities and maintain the House Charities board
- Assist with the organisation of House activities, events, assemblies, and rewards systems
- Coordinate House rewards and sanctions
- Support induction of new students joining mid-academic year
- Assist with the administration of parents' evenings, including appointment bookings and follow-up
Safeguarding and Student Welfare
- Support the Lead Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with safeguarding and welfare matters
- Attend re-admittance meetings for excluded students
- Implement the school policy for emergency withdrawal of students from lessons when required
- Follow up behavioural incidents, including gathering witness statements and speaking with students
- Collate work for students in isolation or on long-term absence
- Coordinate mentoring, counselling, and additional student support services
- Develop supportive mentoring relationships with students requiring additional pastoral care
Liaison with Parents
- Act as the first point of contact for parental enquiries and concerns relating to pastoral care
- Resolve routine issues and escalate significant concerns to appropriate staff
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and carers
- Contact parents regarding attendance, behaviour, or welfare concerns as necessary
External Agencies
- Liaise with external agencies to support student welfare, including:
- Secondary Support Services
- Youth Service
- School Nurse
- Social Services
- Police
- Charitable organisations
- Attend regular multi-agency meetings to support student needs effectively
School Events and Community
- Attend and support New Intake Evenings and School Open Evenings
- Assist in building a strong House identity, ethos, and sense of belonging

- A First Aid certificate would be desirable but is not essential
