We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Conveyancing Assistant to join our Client's busy and friendly Conveyancing team based in Bedford. The successful candidate will support the team in managing a caseload of residential conveyancing files, providing a high standard of client service and administrative support.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist with residential property transactions from instruction through to post-completion.

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, transfer forms, and completion statements.

  • Conduct and review property searches.

  • Open and maintain files, including compliance checks and anti-money laundering procedures.

  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors to ensure smooth communication.

  • Maintain and update case management systems.

  • Assist with preparing financial statements and invoices.

  • Handle incoming calls and correspondence in a professional manner.

  • Carry out post-completion tasks including submission of SDLT returns and Land Registry applications.

Skills

  • 1 year+ experience in a conveyancing or property law support role

  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with case management systems (e.g., LEAP or similar) is desirable.

  • A positive and proactive approach to work.
