We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Mental health Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Bedford. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students who require additional support to manage emotional, social, and mental health challenges in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement individualised support plans and strategies to enhance students' emotional and academic development.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing environment to build students' resilience, self-esteem, and coping strategies.
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons, ensuring all students are included and engaged.
  • Build positive relationships with students, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to monitor and track progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience as a SEMH Teaching Assistant or a relevant qualification (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or similar).
  • A background in Psychology or a related field, with a strong understanding of mental health and behavioural management.
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and succeed in their education.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with the ability to adapt to each student's unique needs.
