ADAS Test Technician - Contract Role
Location: Cranfield, CV21 2NZ
Rate: 19.67 per hour (PAYE)

Duration: 12 months

Working pattern: 8:00-17:00 Mon-Thu & 8:00-13:20 Fri

We are seeking an experienced ADAS Test Technician to join our team on a contract basis at Cranfield. The role involves vehicle preparation, instrumentation, testing, and validation of advanced driver assistance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, assemble, and maintain test vehicles and instrumentation in line with engineering procedures.

  • Set up and operate instrumentation including camera, radar, and ADAS logging systems.

  • Conduct vehicle CAN bus system fault finding; Vector CAN tool experience advantageous.

  • Fabricate and repair harnesses; read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Acquire data and support detailed report writing using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team and support dynamic testing activities.

  • Travel flexibility required, often on short notice, typically up to two weeks.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Full UK driving license with a minimum of 3 years' experience; LHD/European driving preferred.

  • Practical mechanical and electrical skills, ideally automotive-based.

  • Proficient in data management with Excel and report creation in PowerPoint.

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail; able to work independently.

  • Valid passport for business travel.

  • Preferred qualifications: C&G or BTEC Level 3 in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering or relevant apprenticeship.
