Programme Lead - East West Rail

We are seeking an experienced Programme Lead to support the delivery of a major rail infrastructure project, acting as a key liaison between stakeholders, partners, and internal teams. This role will focus on programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, and governance, ensuring successful design and implementation of transport initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the organisation's involvement in the programme.

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including government bodies, project partners, and community representatives.

  • Oversee programme governance, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.

  • Support design and build phases, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across planning, transport, and infrastructure teams.

  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring timely delivery of programme milestones.

  • Represent the organisation at regional and national forums related to the project.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in programme or project management within transport or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

  • Understanding of government funding frameworks and governance requirements.

  • Ability to coordinate complex programmes across multiple organisations.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in rail or major transport projects.

  • Familiarity with Development Consent Order (DCO) processes.

  • Knowledge of local authority governance and planning frameworks.
