Control Systems Engineer
Location: Bedford
Salary: 45,000 - 50,000

An innovative and sustainability-focused engineering business is looking for a Control & Automation Engineer to join their growing team.
You'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining control philosophies, functional specifications, and loop documentation
- Selecting and commissioning instrumentation, sensors, and variable speed drives (VSDs)
- Integrating PLC and SCADA systems, including control networks and telemetry
- Leading and supporting site commissioning, with ongoing remote monitoring and system support
- Working closely with engineering teams, OEMs, and external partners
Skills and Experience
- Hands on experience with Siemens PLC/SCADA integration and PID tuning
- Knowledge of instrumentation and VSD commissioning
- Proven experience working within within wastewater, oil & gas, or similar process industries
- Experience using Modbus and communication protocols
- The ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings and documentation using AutoCAD
