Tradewind are currently working with a welcoming, mainstream primary school in Bedford, known for its modern open-plan layout and excellent facilities, to find a dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to start this September.

This inclusive school is proud of its supportive staff team and its commitment to helping every child thrive. You'll be working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who have a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.

Our school are looking for a real team player who is happy to role up their sleeves and make an impact every day.

This is a full-time position, working via the agency in the first instance but likely to go permanent after 2 terms for the strongest candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of individual learning plans

  • Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and interaction

  • Use creativity and flexibility to tailor support and resources

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to provide joined-up support

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (education or care settings welcome)

  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient personality

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Adaptable and proactive approach to daily challenges

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare in a school context
