Location: Bedford
Contract Type: Temporary Ongoing
Working Pattern: Part Time (Tuesday to Saturday, 06:00 - 16:00 with a 1-hour break, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays)
Pay Rate: 17.28 per hour + Holiday, Pension, Adecco Benefits

What You'll Do:
As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring vehicles are repaired to the highest standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing damage and determining the best method of repair or replacement for large body panels.
  • Removing, repairing, and replacing large body panels, including roofs, quarter panels, and structural members.
  • Using a variety of tools and equipment such as welders, jigs, pulling systems, and measuring systems.
  • Ensuring that all repairs meet OEM (original equipment manufacturer) specifications.
  • Conducting structural realignment and frame straightening as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
  • Accurately completing all job documentation and reports.
  • Collaborating closely with paint technicians, estimators, and other repair staff.
  • Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For:
We seek individuals with a strong background and relevant skills. To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a Panel Beater or Body Technician, specifically with large panel work.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and spot welding.
  • Strong knowledge of structural repair techniques and materials (high-strength steel, aluminium).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, repair methods, and measurement systems.
  • Experience with jigs and alignment systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Relevant trade qualifications.
  • A valid driver's licence (preferred or required, depending on the role).

Desirable Skills:
While not essential, the following will give you an edge:

  • Experience working in insurance-approved or manufacturer-approved bodyshops.
  • Familiarity with hybrid or electric vehicle body structures.
  • Ongoing training in modern vehicle repair techniques.
