JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Welder Fabricatorwho is technically minded with the ability to read and understand engineering drawing as well as interpret measuring devices.

Working as the Welder Fabricator you will be responsible for fabricating components from drawings and performing welding operations to join components. Ideally you will you have experience in both MIG and TIG welding, as well as the ability to read fabricating drawings and use hand tools and other equipment to fabricate and assemble components.

As the Welder Fabricator you will have knowledge of a range of materials and processes is essential, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. The role requires excellent attention to detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Welder Fabricator will include:

  • Operating welding equipment to join metal components
  • Read blueprints and drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
  • Fabricating and repairing metal components and structures
  • Inspecting finished welds to determine structural soundness
  • Using a variety of welding techniques, including tungsten inert gas (TIG), metal inert gas (MIG) and arc welding
  • Using hand tools and grinding equipment to prepare material for welding
  • Carrying out routine maintenance on welding equipment

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of welding techniques
  • Ability to operate welding and fabricating machinery
  • Ability to work with heavy steels up to 40ml (Desired)
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret measuring devices
