One of my local government clients is seeking a Administrator to join their Business Support Team , providing essential support to departments across the Council.

Our Business Support Team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality administrative, clerical and financial assistance to ensure the smooth running of Council services.

A typical day in this role may include:

  • Opening and distributing post

  • Answering and directing calls from members of the public

  • Processing applications and maintaining records

  • Arranging interviews and meetings

  • Paying invoices and managing financial documentation

  • Updating systems, databases and processes

About You

We are seeking a motivated and organised individual who thrives in a busy administrative environment. You will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or Council environment – this is essential or highly desirable

  • Proven experience in administration and customer service roles

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams)

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Working Pattern

This position is part-time, working 24 hours per week, across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The specific working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate and will fall within standard office hours.
