Bookkeeper | West Belfast | Permanent opportunity

Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a business in West Belfast who are actively recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join their team.  

This is a permanent opportunity, office based and candidates will be considered on a part time or full time basis.

Reporting to the Directors, the Bookkeeper will be solely responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities working with Sage 50 software.

  • The role will manage the bookkeeping up to trial balance stage of accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Daily financial operations, including posting of supplier invoices, reconciliation of supplier accounts, accounts payable management, creation of customer invoices, accounts receivable management.
  • Maintain monthly sales records.
  • Perform monthly bank/credit-card reconciliations.
  • Monthly VAT returns and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly aged creditors reports and manage and process monthly supplier payment run accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly aged debtors reports and provide credit control where required.
  • Preparation of lodgements.
  • Process monthly payroll payments.
  • Provide assistance with maintaining staff HR records and contracts of employment.

The Person

  • Accounting/Bookkeeping: 3 years' experience minimum.
  • GCSE C or above: Maths and English.
  • Knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
  • Competent knowledge and proficient user of Sage 50 accounts package.
  • IT awareness, competent knowledge and user of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written and digital) and interpersonal skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper who can work in a stand-alone role and take ownership of the bookkeeping function.  This is a lovely opportunity and offers flexibility around the hours of work, part time or full time.
