Responsible to: Customs Team Manager



Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)



Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, with 1 weekend in every 9 on call



Hours of Work: 09.00 - 17.30

Job Summary:


As a Customs Agent, your primary role will involve handling import and export shipments and managing full Customs Clearance processes across the UK and Ireland. Full training will be provided, although previous experience in customs clearance is advantageous.
You will be an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail and a strong commercial awareness. You will work collaboratively within a team, fostering good relationships with both internal and external colleagues to ensure compliance with all customs procedures.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle import and export shipments.
  • Manage full Customs Clearance facilities across the UK and Ireland.
  • Ensure compliance with all customs procedures for efficient goods movement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to promote smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively across different media to maintain high standards of service.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong IT knowledge, with the ability to navigate various operating systems.
  • Previous experience in customs brokerage, forwarding, or a busy transport/logistics environment.


Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Proficient in using all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Previous experience as a Customs Broker or Forwarding Agent.
  • Experience in a busy transport office or logistics background.
