Brook Street Recruitment are working on behalf of our Belfast client who are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Sea Freight Operative to join a dynamic and growing freight forwarding and customs clearance division focusing on import and export operations
Responsibilities include:
- Arrange transportation by air, sea and road with freight carriers and agents
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery
- Handle bookings with airline, shipping lines and haulage companies
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing the shipment process from booking to final delivery
- Prepare and verify shipping documents
- Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to promote smooth operations
- Ensure compliance with import/export laws and customs regulations
- Maintain effective communication with clients for exceptional customer service
The ideal Candidate:
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
- Previous experience in a sea freight role is preferred
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT knowledge with the ability to navigate various operating systems
