We are working with a global financial institution to recruit a markets control SME. The role is part of the Risk & Control team within front office and is responsible for overseeing preventative size and price booking controls and adherence to a Manual Entry Standard within the Oversight workstream. This is an exciting opportunity for a practically minded, professional with an in-depth knowledge of traded products combined with a clear understanding of Front Office trading preventative controls. The team has coverage across all Markets' businesses globally, multiple risk and technology functions enabling the candidate the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple stakeholders and for career development.
Key responsibilities:

  • Oversight of size and price preventative booking controls reporting adherence to the Manual Entry Standard; developing materials to support all business product teams for their respective governance forum reporting requirements and escalations
  • Tracking, monitoring and oversight of business methodology and annual size and price control threshold review documentation completion and control threshold change management
  • Support the Business with preventative size and price control logic testing oversight, ensuring that documentation is updated with control changes and scenarios tested
  • Investigating trade booking errors, including root cause analysis and partnering with technology and business stakeholders to identify and embed preventative booking size and price controls
  • As part of sustainability, look at opportunities to enhance existing preventative booking controls to improve control framework, including, gathering business requirements and partnering with control review and preventative control delivery workstreams for implementation
  • Work with Audit and other Control groups to drive forward control enhancement initiatives and investigate control failures.
  • Ensure that relevant booking control standards, control documentation and procedures are kept up to date, and booking practices are considered as businesses introduce new products or changes.

To be considered for this role you must posses the following skills/experience:

  • At least 5 years operating in a similar role in the markets industry
  • Relevant industry experience in: FO control/ 1st Line of Defence function, or other relevant control functions
  • Change Management experience, including governance framework/ adherence to standards and oversight
  • Strong working knowledge in Global Markets traded products, booking models and flows, risk and related control principles
  • Experience in working on controls related change, working with technology, including writing detailed business requirements, defining test acceptance criteria and reviewing testing outcomes
  • Effective negotiation and relationship skills, comfortable in responding to and managing challenging stakeholders in a Front Office environment
