Opportunity to Lead Major Renewable Energy Projects Across the UK

I'm currently working with a well-established and fast-growing company in the UK renewable energy sector that is looking to appoint a Lead Project Manager. This is a key hire for the business and offers long-term stability with a secured pipeline of projects extending well beyond the next five years.

You'll be responsible for overseeing the delivery of multiple complex electrical infrastructure projects (typically up to £40M in value), while also leading and mentoring a small team of junior Project Managers. This is a high-impact role with clear career progression potential, working at the forefront of the UK's energy transition.

The Role

As Lead Project Manager, you'll take full ownership of your portfolio-managing projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover. You'll coordinate internal teams, engage with clients, and ensure that delivery meets all quality, safety, and commercial targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the planning and execution of electrical infrastructure and grid connection projects
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
  • Managing project delivery across all phases-mobilisation, execution, and close-out
  • Leading and developing a small team of Project Managers
  • Ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget
  • Regular site visits and travel across the UK as required

What You'll Need

This role suits someone with a strong background in energy, utilities, or electrical infrastructure. You'll need to be confident managing high-value engineering projects, ideally in the renewable or power sector.

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects (£5M-£40M)
  • Strong technical knowledge of LV, MV, and HV electrical systems (including substations)
  • Track record of project delivery in live site environments
  • Skilled in risk management, planning, and stakeholder engagement
  • Comfortable leading teams and dealing directly with clients
  • Willingness to travel across the UK as needed

What's on Offer

  • Base salary of £85,000 - £95,000 (depending on experience)
  • Strong benefits package
  • Long-term role with secured workload and investment
  • Career progression in a growing, well-respected business
  • Opportunity to play a leading role in delivering the UK's clean energy infrastructure
