Commissioning Maintenance Engineer

Alecto Recruitment is partnered with a global leader within the Energy from Waste sector, who is looking for a Commissioning Maintenance Engineer to work on a project in Belvedere.

What's on offer:

  • 500 - 550 p/d (outside IR35)
  • 4 months minimum
  • December start date

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers all work to contract specs, timelines, budgets, and HSEQ standards.
  • Provides mechanical support during commissioning (filters, pumps, etc.).
  • Flags variations and issues to the Commissioning Manager.
  • Keeps mechanical tools clean and ready for use.
  • Coordinates with commissioning leads, engineers, and operations teams.
  • Follows and applies maintenance routines per OEM and plant requirements.
  • Updates and maintains records in PAMELA/CMMS systems.
  • Plans and performs scheduled maintenance, including materials, manpower, and parts.
  • Diagnoses equipment faults and takes corrective action with commissioning/shift teams.
  • Completes field maintenance and logs all work, providing regular progress updates.
  • Collects required samples (water, oil, waste, IBA, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Mid-level experience in mechanical maintenance, commissioning, or industrial plant operations.
  • Demonstrable experience in a maintenance role in Energy from waste, Power Plants and or other heavy industry setting
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pumps, filters, and rotating equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements
  • Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC), Safepass (ROI), CSCS or CCNSG card or equivalent
  • Good communicator and can present ideas effectively
  • Ability to work alone and part of a team
  • Flexibility, ability to travel and work shift pattern or site hours
  • Manage Client & Stakeholder interface
