Mechanical Project Design Engineer - Up to £50k DOE plus benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join one of Carbon60's clients who specialise in innovative, efficient turnkey power solutions to an array of industries - specialising in industrial power projects.

This is a permanent position for a Mechanical Project Design Engineer with proven experience within engineering/construction environments to support our client's technical team throughout initial project stages through to commissioning (Tendering, Pre-construction/assembly, Design) - This includes both internal and external projects.

Salary: Up to £50k p/a DOE

Working Hours: Full-time (Mon-Fri), Permanent

Location: Erith Primary Location, with regular travel to client sites and offices around London & South East - suitable candidates will be based within this area


Position Overview: This is a permanent position for a Mechanical Project Design Engineer with proven experience within engineering/construction environments to support our client's technical team throughout initial project stages through to commissioning (Tendering, Pre-construction/assembly, Design) - This includes both internal and external projects.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Producing RFIs (Requests for Information) for projects and liaising with the technical lead
  • Reviewing tender offers for technical compliance and assisting the Sales team with project-specific tender clarifications and exclusions
  • Contributing to the production of the Project Execution Plan (PEP)
  • Supporting pre-construction activities and reviewing prefabrication opportunities
  • Producing technical submissions and drawings/schematics
  • Interfacing with the client's internal control team and attending design meetings/workshops
  • Supporting testing and commissioning activities
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Produce As Built/Handover documentation

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Mechanical Project Design Engineer within an Engineering/Construction environment working on Design for construction/infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering methods, industry terminology/standards/regulations, materials and costs
  • High-level numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator with effective interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with Revit/Autocad would be preferable
