We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join an EBD Children's home. You will be responsible for the management and development of our home in conjunction with the Registered Manager. This role is crucial in maintaining service and practice standards in line with the 1989 and 2004 Children Acts, our organisation's policies, and Ofsted regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to the children.
  • Act as the Registered Manager in their absence, managing all aspects of the home's operations.
  • Maintain a therapeutic approach within the care teams, providing direct work with children.
  • Ensure compliance with legal parameters as outlined in company policies and procedures.
  • Support the business, clinical, and social development of the service.
  • Protect company assets and promote a positive company image.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure care and service levels meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to policies and procedures among staff.
  • Contribute to the development of young people through healthy lifestyles, activities, and consistent care.
  • Manage and implement care plans, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with staffing ratios.
  • Maintain accurate records including case files, risk assessments, and incident reports.
  • Provide leadership and management to staff, ensuring professional standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and relationships with external professionals involved in the children's welfare.
  • Participate in the on-call system as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within child care or residential care settings.
  • Familiarity with the 1989 and 2004 Children Acts, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to on-call duties.
