We are seeking a dedicated Residential Senior Support Worker (Team Leader) to lead a team of support workers in providing exceptional care and support to children in our residential home. This role is crucial in helping children address their problems, achieve well-being, and reach their full potential. The successful candidate will support the Manager and Deputy Manager in organising and leading day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead and organise shifts, ensuring all children's needs are met as outlined in their placement plans.
- Support children in their health, education, and personal development.
- Manage activities, coordinate safeguarding concerns, and ensure the smooth running of the shift.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment within the home.
- Act as a key point of contact for children with external agencies such as social workers and educational staff.
- Oversee the completion of high-standard home records and reports for care managers.
- Participate in the on-call rota and undertake required training and professional development.
- Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it.
- Minimum of one year's experience in a similar role, preferably within residential support for troubled children.
- Strong understanding of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Children’s Homes Quality Standards, and relevant child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a challenging environment.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
