Sales Engineer
Based in Hertfordshire | 4 day working week | 40,000+ DOE
About the Role
We are looking for a technically minded and commercially aware Sales Engineer who can contribute to all aspects of the sales process. The successful candidate will play a key role in specifying equipment, preparing quotations, and ensuring customer requirements are met to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities as a Sales Engineer
- Promote company products and capabilities through customer visits, tenders, and effective negotiation.
- Work with internal teams to provide engineered solutions to customer enquiries.
- Support sales activities for international operations, including India and China.
- Follow up and convert sales leads generated from marketing campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs to drive equipment sales.
- Maintain the CRM database and contribute to sales forecasting and marketing planning.
- Identify and develop new markets for company equipment and services.
- Develop the service business, including calibrations and outage support.
- Assist in managing the internal sales order process.
Qualifications & Competencies as a Sales Engineer
- HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering disciplines, or apprenticeship plus relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a customer-facing technical or commercial sales role.
- Proven track record of selling within the industrial engineering environment.
- Strong technical understanding and commercial negotiation skills.
- Professional, confident communicator able to engage effectively at senior levels.
