The Role:

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the daily lives of our young people, providing consistent care, guidance, and support. This may involve supporting life story work, developing social skills, and managing challenging behaviours in a therapeutic manner.
  • Building Positive Relationships: Develop warm, trusting, and professional relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model and advocate for their needs.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensure the safety and well-being of all young people at all times, adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures. Report any concerns promptly and appropriately.

  • Life Skills Development: Assist young people in developing essential life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and self-care, preparing them for greater independence.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and observations, contributing to care planning and reviews.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating clearly with colleagues, management, and external professionals (e.g., social workers, therapists).
  • Housekeeping Duties: Contribute to the general upkeep and cleanliness of the home, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Participation in Training: Actively engage in all mandatory and development training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in therapeutic child care.
