What the Accounts Assistant Job Involves

You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function. Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider team.

  • Accurately processing supplier invoices and supporting the accounts payable function
  • Recording financial transactions and performing reconciliations on all customer accounts
  • Assisting with payroll, HMRC compliance, and employee expenses
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with monthly and year-end reporting using Excel
  • Helping prepare for audits and maintaining financial records
  • Providing general finance admin support and answering internal queries

This is a hands-on and varied role with exposure across the full finance function, offering a brilliant platform to grow in a regulated financial services environment.

Skills Required

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts-based role or a relevant degree in Accountancy and Finance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Excel skills (V Lookup and Pivot Tables) and the ability to manage data confidently
  • A team-focused, proactive attitude
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work with confidentiality and integrity
