St Mary’s School is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapist for a maternity cover contract, starting approximately early September 2025. This role is ideal for a therapist with a keen interest or experience in managing complex speech, language, and communication needs. Our school provides a nurturing environment for pupils aged 5 to 19 with various speech, language, and communication needs, learning difficulties, and other associated SEND.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assess, plan, and deliver individualised intervention programmes for a defined caseload.
  • Work with children individually or in small groups within classroom settings and specialist therapy spaces.
  • Enable pupils to access the curriculum and promote meaningful engagement in school-based tasks.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support tailored to each pupil’s needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • HCPC and RCSLT registration is essential.
  • Experience in an educational setting is desirable, though Newly Qualified Practitioners (NQPs) are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrable interest in or experience with complex speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
